Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: September 10, 2026. What we aim for on this site, what it does, where we know it falls short, and how to tell us when something does not work.

This statement applies to refactoreq.com. A first conversation with a coach should be reachable by anyone who wants one. A page that blocks someone from booking it is a barrier, not a technical footnote.

Conformance target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We check the site by operating it with a keyboard alone and by testing text and background colors against the contrast minimums. The site changes, and we re-check it when it does.

What this site does

  • Every page can be operated with a keyboard, without a mouse.
  • Every page begins with a "Skip to main content" link.
  • Focus indicators are visible on links, buttons, and form controls.
  • Text and background colors are tested against a 4.5:1 contrast minimum, and large text against 3:1.
  • Images carry text alternatives that describe what is in the image.
  • Headings follow a logical order, so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
  • Motion is turned off automatically for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
  • Pages are built with semantic HTML and standard landmarks rather than generic containers.
  • The two self-assessments are scored in your browser, work with a keyboard and a screen reader, and are optional. Nothing about booking a call depends on them.

What this site does not do

We do not use an accessibility overlay, plugin, or toolbar. These tools claim to fix accessibility automatically. They do not, they interfere with the screen readers and browser settings people already rely on, and we consider them worse than doing nothing.

Known limitations

The booking calendar on the contact page is provided by a third-party service, Calendly. Its calendar is not built or controlled by us, and we cannot guarantee it meets the standard above.

If the calendar does not work for you, for any reason, you do not have to use it. Email info@refactoreq.com with a sentence or two about what you are looking for, and a coach writes back within one business day to set up the same discovery call, at the same times, on the same terms.

Tell us about a barrier

If you find a page you cannot use, we want to hear about it directly.

Please tell us the page address and what happened. We aim to acknowledge every report within five business days and will tell you what we intend to do about it. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will offer another way to get you what you needed from that page.

Assessment

This site is evaluated by Refactor=EQ using manual keyboard testing and color contrast checks against WCAG 2.1 A and AA. It has not been evaluated by an independent third party.
